High Current Density Electrolysis for Secondary Pb

The FAST Pb process was developed by Engitec to convert the lead contained in lead-acid battery paste into metal. The process proved to be viable as well as much more environmentally friendly than current technologies. After numerous tests were conducted, a demo plant was built and operated at the Engitec lab facility in order to improve the efficiency of the process. This resulted in modifications to the process operating parameters and some plant equipment with the purpose to make the process more robust. In this paper we would like to give an update about the situation of the process.
