The work deals with the leaching of an eudialyte concentrate and REE-precipitation as REEcarbonate.
It has a significant content of rare earth elements and the content of uranium and thorium
in an eudialyte concentrate is very slow. Within this study a hydrometallurgical treatment was used
to decompose the eudialyte for the recovery of rare earth elements. The precipitation with sodium
carbonate is a final step for the formation of rare earth carbonate, which is required for the subsequent
solvent extraction in order to separate some rare earth elements. Results of this study show
possibility to recover valuable product containing rare earth elements [1].
